Triethylamine (TEA) is an organic compound that commonly used in industries, but its volatile, inflammable, corrosive, and toxic nature leads to explosions tissue damage. A sensitive, accurate, situ monitoring of TEA great significance production safety human health. Metal oxide semiconductors (MOSs) are widely as gas sensors for volatile compounds due their high bandgap unique microstructure. This review aims provide insights into the further development MOSs by generalizing existing detection measures improve sensing performance. starts proposing basic gas-sensing characteristics sensor two typical mechanisms. Then, recent developments performance summarized from different aspects, such optimization material morphology, incorporation other materials (metal elements, conducting polymers, etc.), new (graphene, TMDs, application advanced fabrication devices, introduction external stimulation. Finally, this concludes with prospects using aforementioned methods high-performance sensors, well highlighting research challenges emerging field.
